Rocketship Education Takes a Different Approach to Learning

October 17, 2017 By admin

The Center for Public Education (CTE) has many standards in which they grade schools, most often test scores at the major contributing factor. Too often schools that work diligently to educate their students are graded unfairly because test scores credit schools for proficient scores.

A new grading model has been proposed that will show improvement for schools with low performing students that have steadily improved but haven’t reached the proficient level.

Rocketship Education charter schools have shown great improvement in student academic progress in low-income areas. Assessment scores were higher for Rocketship students because of the innovative style of learning presented. Students attend four core classes daily.

Each student has an individualized learning plan to ensure no child is forgotten. While test scores are important for funding, Rocketship is more concerned with long-term student success. Rocketship’s California locations are ranked in the top 10% of schools in math and ELA.
